Our Story Begins

Hello, I’m Katie – the maker behind Squiggle and Bean.

Squiggle and Bean began in 2021, but my love for creating started well before that. Before the toys came along, I was running Katie Creates, where I spent my time designing and making handmade clothes and cosy blankets. As my business evolved, so did my creativity – and Squiggle and Bean was born, bringing with it the wonderful world of crochet soft toys.

What started as a small idea has grown into an award-winning (twice!) toy brand, with a collection of much-loved characters that are designed to be cuddled, played with and treasured. Every Squiggle and Bean toy is carefully handmade with quality and safety at the heart of the process, and all toys are fully CE tested for peace of mind.

I’m married and have two children, who are a constant source of inspiration (and very honest product testers!). When I’m not crocheting, you’ll usually find me watching football, getting lost in a good book, or enjoying time at the beach.
